We have always had real trees but this year I don't think we are going to bother with a tree at all, might grab one of those posters LOL.0

A fake one that I've had for years.
Had a real one once, but with 2 dogs and 2 children tearing round, the needles didn't stay on for long! Here I go again on my own....0 -
Always a real one, it never feels like christmas without a real tree. We buy ours from a privately owned garden centre who grow all their own trees and then we take it to be shredded after christmas. Sometimes we pay the full whack but often the centre has a bargain basement corner for trees that aren't "perfect". 2 years ago we picked up a 6 foot tree that was imperfect because it was covered in pine cones. We paid £5 for it and everyone commented that they had never seen a more beautiful tree.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

This is it I can see the trees being grown out of my bedroom window.
The farm is next to us. I can also hear the gun go off at night warning off those naughty people who try and get into the field and 'borrow one or two when the farmer isn't looking'.
One family I know planted trees on some land they have and 'harvest' one each year. They then plant another to replace it so that they have a continual loop of trees at the right size ready to be cut down. I am starting to wonder if I might be able to fit that idea into a hedge maybe?True wealth lies in contentment - not cash. Dollydaydream 20060 -
The first year in our house we had a real tree but our kitten climbed up it twice, tipped it over and broke some of the decorations. The following year our first born arrived and we decided a fake was probably for the best.
Our youngest is now 2 yrs old and the cat is nearly 6 so we have decided that next year we will definently get the real thing.
I love the smell of a real tree :xmastree:0 -
LOL greenpixey

When I lived in Germany we had really high ceilings and as the trees were so cheap we always bought a huge one, I heard you had to water them so I crawled underneath to add water to the container and the whole thing came down on top of me, lights and all. DH came in and couldn't help for laughing at the sight of me buried underneath an 8 foot fully decorated tree.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,

8ft lush fake one. I put drops of Pine essential oil on small cones that I have wired to the tree and it smells great. We have so many baubles, chocs, lights and tinsel on it no one can tell whether it is real or not:rotfl: except that it is always a beatiful shape AND I can push it as close to the wall as I want! When we were first married we had real trees until our dog got a pine needle in his foot one year, it went septic, spread up his leg and it cost us £40+ to get it treated (this was 30 years ago and £40 was a huge amount of money then:eek: )0
