FTB mortgage application

Options
So far we have applied for a mortgage and its a really good deal. We have paid for a valuation and that has already taken place. They are now wanting more information on my employment. Then its the solicitor part.
As we have got this far through the application can they still turn round and fefuse us the mortgage?

Confused and stressed out FTB! Please can anyone help from their past experiences. :(

Have you received a formal mortgage offer to sign?

They can refuse/withdraw the offer at any time if new info comes to light, most lenders agree before going to valuation, what info are they now after?

Have you spoken to your broker about your concerns?

I have'nt signed anything other than the identification letter. We have got an illustration and AIP, and the filled in the final application form.
They want more proof of my earnings from my employer. As we have already paid for the valuation and are now preparing for the legal work to be carried out it would be unfair for them to refuse us as we would'nt get a refund on the costs. I hope they don't refuse us!

    Thanks for the help. :o

Bit confused as to where you are, have you applied?

IS the valuation being done through the lender or are you arranging a seperate one?

    Who is the lender?

To be honest you can pay for the survey and then have them turn around and say they are not happy with the information you supplied. If they turn you down after the valuation you will lose the money that was paid so far.
  • the lender is the post office , they have carried out the valuation.

Your solicitor won't progress matters very far until you've received and signed the offer letter. The solicitor also represents the interests of the lender during the transaction.

Then you should hear shortly if they've received all the required information to consider your application.
