Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 28th Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning all,

Chilly here this morning, and I see we are in for a week of rain and wind down south, with better weather in the north.

We managed to get a new roof on the shed yesterday, well I say 'we' I mean OH with me providing tea and hot cross buns :D, got it done before tha rain lashed it down in the afternoon.

Load of roast pork left from yesterday, which has been sliced and frozen, ready for another meal :T

I am off to work today, its mad busy for me at the moment, so the day should fly by. Dinner tonight is meatballs with pasta and sauce.

Need to have a quick tidy round in the kitchen, and do a wash tonight.

Have good days all xx

Overcast here today but not too cold, hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish have been fed & I shall set off for work soon. My packup is egg & cress sarnies with home grown cress, hubby sowed a huge tray full & I'm still eating my way through it. I made a batch of chocolate brownies on Saturday, gave some to DS & sent a few to work with hubby, yesterday I made a banana & choc chip loaf to take to work, things are pretty dire there at the moment, hopefully the cake will cheer people up. I need to sort out some problems with my dept, the bursar isn't happy with it but blocks all the changes I suggest.
Hubby finished cleaning off the decking yesterday, scrubbed it & we have some sweet peas ready to plant in tubs on it.
    Have a good gay eveyone.
    Hugs Hester

Big dinner didn't happen yesterday for one reason and another but as the chicken was cooked yesterday it will be done this evening as I'm off today.

Need to get some financial bits and pieces sorted to day, get to the bank, do an MS job or two, change over handbags to I can use my new one, make sure my clothes for work are ironed and ready to go for tomorrow, sort out make-up to keep in my handbag (trying to make more of an effort as I dont wear make-up very often!), make the dinner, plan whats needed for my weekend away at mums, and find sometime to chill out with DH as he's working this evening.

If I say it quickly it doesn't sound to bad!

    Have a good day xx

Dry, chilly and breezy here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. I got up and went for a run, and have now pulled a muscle in the back of my leg, so won't be running anymore this week, boo.... Stayed the same at the scales on Friday so was going for a big exercise week, feeling a bit gutted as was really up for it too! But I know I must rest otherwise could give ongoing problems etc.

Went to mum's Saturday night for dinner with the rest of the family, DH didn't come as he was completely shattered, had very nice dinner and it meant all the children got together, food was lovely too, nothing to bad for the diet either.

Yesterday was taken up with a caravan meeting but that went well so by the time we got home had dinner etc the weekend was over, why don't the weeks pass by as quickly? Both boys schools' don't go back until tomorrow so they are going to MIL's, I will drop them off before I go to work and DH will pick them up on his way home tonight. Dinner tonight will be gammon, egg, onion and chive sauce, mash and veg. Have menu planned for this week, so hopefully should be able to not spend anymore money!?

Am thinking that work will be busy this week as it was unusually quiet at the start of last week so getting ready for the onslaught!

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning everyone - was away for a long weekend and haven't kept up with the thread until last night. It was my birthday on Saturday so had lots of birthday type stuff happening :j so enjoyed it all, apart from the increase in the number!

Today has a slow start, only on my first coffee and still in jim-jams but will get going shortly. Work is taking me away from now until Wednesday night so need to get organised, just finished unpacking and now need to repack.

I hope everyone is keeping their pecker up - spring is coming and the snowdrops are out.

Good Morning everyone ,cold damp and misty here in north kent ,and its Monday. The children are back at school so normality reigns once more .Just the school run to do this morning.no shopping at all to get but a bit of iroing and a quick flit through the housework.my pal is coming tomorrow for a few days and we shall be decorating so no point being too scrupulous with the tidying as its going to be a bit messy for a couple of days .Its only the spare room but as I live in a tiny house I have to find other spots to put my bits and pieces from there. I am in my other spare room sitting amongst most of it at the moment as thats where my computer is so I feel like I'm sitting in a junk yard at the moment .My pal is brilliant at decluttering though and I'm hoping by the end of the week it will be a bit clearer.
Hope everyone is feeling o.k. and <<hugs for the poorlies amongst you >>
    take care everyone

Cold, grey and wet here today and we might have some sleet according to the weather forecast.

Belated birthday wishes for Saturday Gers x

Got to get my DLA form filled in today and send it off now that I know where I stand with the knee replacements. That will take up most of the day.:(:(:(

Pleased to hear that the Kings Speech got best Film, best Actor, best Director and best original screenplay :j:T:j

Dinner tonight is left over pork stew - it was going to be stir fry but as it is so cold we are back to stews.

Well off to get bomb up DS's bum and get him moving.

    Have good days all x

Up early today as DS2 back to school DS3 is still snoring loudly as is his pupster next to him.

Dustmen come today which is a bit annoying as can't do too much cleaning with him home and I really need to everywheres a mess oh well maybe next week :rotfl:

Hester thanks for the reminder my mustard and cress is sat next to the microwave ready to sow will do it no before I forget again think its cress first..

    Morning All,

Well its offically the last day of summer here today and as its been the hottest summer in 33 years i have to say im looking forward to it cooling down a little. Its been 38 degrees again today but i think there is a storm coming which will clear the air a little - fingers crossed.

Well today Ive been back to the hairdressers as they messed my hair up last week, thankfully they have made it look better, not perfect or as blonde as i would like but at least i dont look like waynetta slob anymore lol.

I havent done any house work today - my day off :) so I will have to catch up in the week, but i have prepared HM donor kebab for dinner tonight which is Hubs fave.

    Have a great day everyone,

    Good morning,

The house elf has an inset day today, so it will be another day with not a great deal done. I have started on the ironing mountain which has been made worse by the new clothes I have had to buy for the growing small person. I need to clean the filter in the fish tank today (not my most favourite job) and have a quick hoover round. I am also taking the boy to soft play with his best friend, so will have to endure a couple of hours of loud screaming :rotfl::rotfl:

    Take care all of you

Heating man should be here this week as he is next door putting a new wet room in so we should have a normal boiler by the time he is done my diverter valve is sticking so we have hot water & heating even if you dont want heat and it just keeps fireing up all the time the noise drives me mad
Hester hope you can get a few things sorted at work
Dinner tonite is LO chook from yesterday and salad
Right off to catch up with the rest of the thread
