Northern Rock PPI

Has any body had any problems cancelling their PPI with Northern Rock. After reading Martins money tips email regarding which companies/banks allow you to do this I wrote to Northern Rock to ask to cancel my PPI but I have twice been told that I am unable to do so. Just wanted to see if any one had any trouble doing this, if any body has already cancelled this and how they did it!!
