QuickQuid/Mackenzie Hall

Hi there,
Not sure if I have posted this in the right place - apologies if not.
Basically I need some advice/help...
I recently decided to obtain my credit report from all three credit agencies. Much to my horror I noticed a defaulted account with Mackenzie Hall for £262.00. I immediately wrote and emailed to them to ask what this was for.. no response!!
I started getting really worried as my partner and I are talking about mortgages, and I'd hate to be declined because of something like this.
Anyways, to cut a long story short.. I finally got hold of a real person at Mackenzie Hall who told me the debt related to an unpaid loan from QuickQuid...
I then checked my bank statements and discovered that I didn't receive any funding from QuickQuid. I wrote to them with proof of bank statements which corresponded with the dates of supposed funding etc.. and no response.
In January I sent all of this proof off to my contact at Mackenzie Hall, and she agreed that it seemed I had never received the loan thus the agreement between myself and QuickQuid was void. However, she said she would need to contact QuickQuid to sort this out.. and since then I've received no response.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime to speed things up a little bit?? I've tried online chat/calling quickquid but no help there!!
HELP!!

Hi
In the meantime it might be worth putting a notice of correction on your credit file to say that you dispute the debt and the information is unreliable (or something similar).
How did you send the proof to MacHall? by letter? email?
When the contact agreed that the agreement was 'void' was this verbally or in writing?
Did you actually apply to quickquid for a loan you didn't receive or did you never apply for a loan with them?
I think I would send MacHall a version of the prove it letter to say that you have no knowledge of the debt and that you want them to either provide proof of the debt or remove the entry from your credit file in its entirety within 30days. I would do this in writing and send recorded deliv.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks for the advice.. I have some new developments!!
I had previously sent all proof via email so that I could track all copies of everything. I have since spoken to Mackenzie Hall this evening who informed me that QuickQuid had messed up the funding dates. I was given a loan in May, which I knew about but thought I had repaid (I guess this is how messy my finances used to be).
Anyways, it turned out that I signed up to repay via direct debit. Now, I still have QuickQuid details on my bank account - the direct debit was never cancelled. HOWEVER quickquid never attempted to take my direct debit. Does anyone know where I stand now??
I know that I am fully responsible for repaying the loan.. but does anyone know if I can have the default removed due to moving and also because QuickQuid did not attempt to take my money?? I am not trying to avoid any responsibility... I am just slightly annoyed that this whole situation could have been avoided0 -
