Being in your position a few months back I went to my local John Lewis shop and checked out the TVs. Both the Toshiba (32WLT66) and Samsung (not sure exact model) were there.
I wanted the Tosh, but the guys who updated my aerials recommended the Samsung.
At the end of the day both were the same price and it came down to looks, and my preference for the Tosh won the day.
I went and ordered from the net, which may not have been the best idea as I got a duff one and it had to be exchanged (an unusual occurance for a tosh!) but, I've now got a great TV which looks 'the dogs dodahs'!:j
When I made my purchase JL were £899 with 5 year warranty, internet were arround the £750 mark with 1 year warranty. You take your pick!0 -
Also have a look on the 'Discount Codes and Vouchers' forum, at the 'Currys - samsung LCD Flat panel TVs' thread which has the LE32R73/74 at £699.
Might still be beatable elsewhere on the net of course.0 -
Thanks Martin. Which site did you order from? Do you think a 1 year guarantee is OK. Would it be better to pay a little more at John Lewis and get a 5 year guarantee. There are so many sites and so much info. I would welcome your comments. Thanks Lil0

I have the Tosh and it is a FANTASIC set. It can now be found for less than £700 as it has been replaced by the '68' model range. It won 5 stars in What-HiFi and I can confirm the picture is nothing short of stunning.0

Lil, I ordered from Empire Direct as they get good reports from elsewhere on this site - suffice to say I don't think I'll use them again!
Some of the comparison sites (I think it may even be Kellco) give user ratings for the retailers and I tend to go with these.
I did think long and hard about using John Lewis because of the longer warranty but electrical goods seem so much more reliable, and technology moves on so fast, that I thought that the 5 year warranty was not as useful as it may once have been. But then I'm no expert! I think that you have to go with what feels right.
And as Mark states, the picture is spot-on. Another nice touch is that the remote also works any other Tosh product, which I didn't realise but is nice as it works my DVD - so just one remote. Great.0 -
