I managed to buy a bargain boneless leg of lamb joint yesterday ($10, half price as i need to use it before Tuesday) The only thing i can think of doing with it is roasting it and serving it with veg.
Does anyone else have any more inventive or exciting ways to cook this?
With thanks

Ooh you lucky thing!
Place in a rectangular container just big enough to fit, half-fill with red wine and put it in the oven on the very lowest possible setting, 50C or whatever.
Cook for 18 hours and it will start to fall apart....
Take it out, allow to rest and then take two forks and shred it as though you were shredding duck.
You can simply serve on its own if you wish or with gravy made from the red wine juices.
For another change, serve it with a lettuce salad.
It's just a different way of presenting it and it tastes divine!0 -
I'd cook it as above, and serve it like the chinese serve duck, with pancakes and that lovely dark sauce. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

or you can use a spicy rub or chop garlic and rosemary and combine with Olive oil to make a marinade. place in a large plastic bag and leave overnight or for a few hours. then (if it was summer I would say to BBQ for about 35 to 40 minutes turning frequently) or place on a grill rack in a medium oven and roast for about 40 minutes.0

Oh yum, I love lamb. I would go for something Middle Eastern probably a tagine and chickpeas to stretch it out a bit, lots of cumin, cinnamon, garlic and some dried fruits.
Lots of other lovely suggestions too, making me feel hungry!0 -
You could cube it, and cook it with spices, onions and tomato to make a nice lamb curry? Cook it on a low heat for a couple of hours. Put lamb rodon josh into google if you want a specific recipe. Enjoy it whatever you do with it.Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0

Thank you all so much for the lovely ideas, I cant decide if im going to make it into a curry or the bbq route ..... hmmm lovely to have options. I like the idea of putting it in the slow cooker or on the bbq as its so hot here right now having the oven on heats the house up even more.
Thanks again,
