Costco - free eye tests but what are the other costs?

Today i went to Costco with someone who was a cardholder and spotted that they had a free eye test offer.
I cant remember the price of the contact lense check, i think it was about £12? with or without VAT, i'm not sure

Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone knows how much their coatings and thinning options were and
what other offers do they usually have in store, like do they do 2 for 1 etc?

- I know they are doing free upgrades to transition lenses
Has anyone used transition lenses? Do they change quickly when you go from clear to dark.. and dark to clear (in mins or in secs? )


Finally, do you recommend them? or shall i just get an eye test and just buy online.

Costco optician services are only avaliable to card holders and people who live at the same address so unless thats you you cant use them anyway.

Didnt used to be like this as my aunt went and got a test and glasses from them thru us being members but they changed it to the card holders and people at same adress policy only after that.
