Confused by this, I always thought sales were a stores way of shifting stuff that 'wasn't moving' or hadn't moved'

I think you'll find it was meant in jest. The OP used the word "stationary" (which means not moving) as opposed to the correct word "stationery" (meaning paper & office supplies).

MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remote

Hehe - what bcl999 means is that the OP put 'stationary' which means not moving, whereas 'stationery' is paper, office supplies, etc.
  • Way to remember - cArs are stationAry, envelopes are stationEry! (is the ex teacher in me showing???)

That's one thing that has stuck in my head from 3rd year primary school.
This was before the years got renumbered, of course. :p

I picked up some "Toy Story" headphones at 70% off today at Sainsburys. Think they were about £4. They are located near the other office supplies in the sale.
They also had 70% off Toy Story mousemats and mice (mouses?) :D

    He he, durrrrrrr :D
  • LOL at the stationERY debate

I found some sweet little flower-shaped post it notes for 34p!

There are also some nice butterfly notebooks which would be good for present boxes, stocking fillers etc.
