ongoing temporary assignment

I know this is probably the same question as How Long Is A Piece Of String, but what exactly is a Temporary Ongoing Assignment?

It all deoends, have they not given you any inclination? My first ongoing assignment lasted a year till I was given a permanent position and the second lasted a year until I chose to leave, so it could be effectively the same as a permanent post and be ongoing until you deicde to leave.

Go you. It usually means either the company has a backlog of work to deal with but doesn't have any idea of how it will take to clear, or the company wants a new member of staff but doesn't want to commit to any one person before establishing whether they're a good fit or not.

Either way, it's a foot in the door, so well done.
