Hi - I need a large ladies bike and everything I look at is silly prices or super heavy
I'm after a lightweight womans hybrid (not mountain or shopper) so if anyone has recommenations or suggestions they would be most welcome
dont suggest blokes bikes , i'm not built that way;)

My girlfriend and I both cycled across Cuba using the Trek T30 hybrid bikes.
Althugh they feel a little bit heavy to begin with they also feel very sturdy when riding.
They cost us about £350 new but yu can get one second hand a hell of a lot cheaper.
My girlfriend actually used the gents version but you can get a womens version I wouldnt imagin to be do different.0 -
Try ebay i bought a lovely ladies bike for £55.If you dont use it you can always sell it on.0

love the look of the treck krysek but i've scoured the second hand shops around here and theres nothing similar to that, shame looks v. cool I've also done ebay to death (sorry natnhay) and I'm over 100miles away for a sight of a bike - and still expensive - but thanks for the suggestions
I think the size is the problem - i could probably manage a 19" @ full extension - but It looks so silly !Fight Back - Be Happy0 -
Have you tried any second hand websites or the classified ads in the papers or ad specific papers ?0

ohhhhhh! yes - I usually consider myself a pretty decent 'finder' of all things odd - but this one - which I really need - has me beaten
and the annoying thing is I'm not all that tall ...
these days a 36" inside leg for a woman is not all that strange and I'm only 5'9".
but although I can now buy jeans - and please dont mention "long tall interestingly proportioned"
thats your lot...
( sorry ..rant over.. just fed up ...would like to go cycling with kids and have intact knees - blokes bike I have now is killing them!)
still..thanks for the suggestions
just posted b'cos i'm a bit down about this:(
hate to be beaten - like most of you I suspectFight Back - Be Happy0 -
I got myself a Dawes Kalahari 21'' frame ladies bike a couple of years back.
List price was £379, found it for £279 on-line.
It's a 'proper' bike & I use it for commuting to/from work - about 8 miles per day.
