Go for it!
I've stuck post-it notes on ours as little reminders (helpful things like 'Don't use this one or I'LL KILL YOU') Maybe Martin's money mantra's 'Do you need it? Can you afford it? would be a more affirming way to do it tho!

I cut mine up and cancelled the accounts....i think i had four different credit cards/store cards, maybe 5. I left myself with just one credit card but before i knew it i found myself buying because i thought i could keep it sensible. I should have known better and cut ALL the cards up though because the credit was soon run up to 1.5 thousand pounds....on 'just this' or 'just that'....sometimes i told myself i needed to keep it for food shopping, for emergencies etc...but the truth is that I needed to take control of my debts and my spending habits once and for all.
So eventually i cut up that card as well. Now i just have my current account with an overdraft, that I hope, is somewhere near being paid off once and for all. I don't envision a day when i will ever have savings to tell the truth, because i am on such a low income now, but i do now live frugally and dread to think where i would be if i was still kidding myself i could handle things. I've learned my lessons this time and i never want to be in debt ever again.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

I won't cut my credit card up, firstly I only got it last September, it's my only one and can be useful for large purchases. If I manage to get a cashack credit card I may cut it up once the balance is paid off or very low. I will always have 1 credit card, whether in use or not.0

I shredded all of ours in the paper shredder when we signed the DMP papers. It felt great.0
