    I've been Money Tipped!
My kids ruined my table with a sharpie pen, sadly there wasn't anything that would lift the ink off.

I now have very pretty table cloths

    Hi Pen Pen

Its just marks on the table, it hasn't scored into it. DD was thinking nail varnish remover but was a bit worried as it is not proper wood only mdf with a covering that it might take the covering off, she says if all else fails she will turn the bad leaf to the back and use a nice tablecloth when they have guests :D

NOOOO to nail varnish remover. Please, don't. Table in picture defiinitely has a laquer finish on it which would just dissove. Clean out the colour as per suggestions. If you have dints in the wood and go to a good hardware shop. If you have lost colour in the dints buy a scratch remover type product that will match the colour of the table. Then buy a scratch filler/wax in an appropriate colour to fill the dint.

Bear in mind thouth that, with no disrespect, from your pictures, this is a table made of a wood product rather than solid wood, with a laquer finish making it not cost effective to renovate. It might just, actually, be better to pop a table cloth over it until your family can invest in another table.

I just tried the acetone free nail varnish remover on my computer desk. I left the Sharpie for 10 minutes and it came off no problem. Tried it with nail varnish remover with acetone and it didn't come right off.

My son drew on his face with my lipstick. Despite me using makeup remover, soap, baby wipes I only managed to some of it off. He had to go to his jumping jacks class with a funny moustache. He slept at my folks that night and my mum got it off with baby oil, so if all else fails give that a go. :)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

If you haven't already put oil or acetone on the marks, try a rubber, the sort of eraser you rub out pencil marks with. it often works if there is a finish on the wood. May need a little polish on afterwards.
If I'm over the hill, where was the top?
