Help with bailif please...

Options
I got into a mess with council tax after my husband lost his job and we missed a few payments, it was taken to court and of cousre the order was granted, i dont object to any of this. I rang the council on monday as i had heard nothing since, they told me they had sent a letter and it was now with the bailifs who i also havent heard from, they gave me the number and i rang them. The bailifs told me someone would call me back by friday and yesterday they rang. he told me how much the debt now was and that he would be round saturday (tomorrow) to discuss a payment plan. Today I have managed to get the full amount together and rang him at 2pm to tell him and to pay the full balance, he said he was busy and would call back, by 3.30 pm he still hadnt called so i called him. I said i jsut want to clear the debt so i can forget this and i dont want you at my house tomorrow, he said no problem and took my card details, he said if i dont call back in 5 minutes then the payment has gone through and you will recieve a reciept in 3-5 working days, i keep checking my account and the money is still there, i even rang my bank to see if he had tried to put it through and there was a problem, they said no one has attempted a payment. I am now worried he is just going to ignore my attempt to pay and turn up tomorrow to add charges to the account, can they do this? this has me very worried as i do not want this man at my house, any advice would be really appreciated. Many thanks, Lou.

The first rule of bailiffs is that you do NOT under any circumstances let them in your house. Because it will cost you a lot more.

The second one is do you have a car.

    Which company is this please?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
