    sorry posted twice
  • Hi Hun

I know the feeling my little boy is 2 and a hlaf and already knows something is going on so this will be his first proper christmas i think that he knows it Xmas.

I make sure i prepare all the veg (sprouts and carrots mainly!) the night before including the potatoes and cover them in a saucepan (if im gonna boil them) and soem in a bowl covered with water and the bowl covered in the fridge - (ready for roastys!) , so they just need turning on when needed basically.

Gravy granules are even measured and ready in the jug to go so i only have to bung some hot water at it and its done

The pudding is made on Christmas Eve (am allergic to nuts and cherries) so we only have a sponge cake so thats ready and waiting to go. Just needs a tin of custard chucked on it basically.

The Turkey is out and defrosted and i make sure i wake up super early on Christmas morning so its in the oven early then i sneak back to bed and wait for little one to come in (by then turkey is normally partially cooked so i dont have to worry about it too much.

Then i can sit back and relax and play wiht my gorgeous little boy in the morning
    Time to find me again

For the last two years I have had my 'Christmas Dinner' on Christmas Eve for the simple reason that I wanted to spend time with my children on Christmas Day and not stuck in the kitchen cooking or washing dishes. I was dubious at first but it was a real success and on Christmas Day we just eat whatever we like. I know it's not really helping you with the meal but I thought it was maybe an alternative idea for you.:)

i do this to and have steak and chips on christmas day quick easy and tasty if you want a realy hasle free christmas dinner with all the trimmings cook afew days before and frezze take out christmas eve pop it in the fridge and just reheat it on the day no fuss at all leaves the day to spend with your little one with out having to watch the dinner
