If you give your best service to every single customer, you will not have anything to worry about when the MS report comes to your manager.
Even this in itself though is subjective. What is the 'best customer service'?? This can't really be defined. It depends on the type of establishment, and more importantly the type of customer.
I work in retail, and obviously when we have a customer in the middle of a conversation on their mobile, I am not going to be chatty and make small talk with them, as it would be interrupting them, which ultimately is rude (even though they are the ones really being rude - I can't stand customers who blatantly ignore you at the till, without even a glance, smile or thank you. But anyway..!).
This customer just wants to come in, make their purchase as quickly as possible and leave. That to them is good customer service. They will get annoyed at you for trying to chat with them!
However I would obviously not dream of ignoring other customers like this. To lots of other customers, some small talk about their purchase, or the weather, etc etc, is better customer service to them.
Obviously this can depend on the situation. For example if I am working in the Healthcare Counter, then if someone is on their phone and asks for a medicine then I will wait until they stop talking so that I can ask them the necessary questions to be allowed to sell the medicine. Making them wait, or interrupting them to ask has really annoyed customers before, but obviously it's an important part of customer service that they do not receive a medicine that they should not be taking.
Customers are really difficult things, and we can't always read what each one wants!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -

Oooh, that's a shame. She used to tease us all with what she could see on TMDC cos she was PLATINUM. Oh well.0 -

It's Scottish so it's different and usually quicker. She was having internet router problems too. I'll drop her a note.0 -

Land Securities who own the Centre have always planned to charge.

Re the paid parking at livingston they planed to bring it in when they built the "new bit" of the centre (where M&S is etc) but there was such an uproar about it at the time they left it for a while (I think they claimed till the economy was on the upturn but that can not be the case)
However that means that I am unlikely to do the occasional job there that I have been doing, ie pop in to do one on the way back from work.
I would assume that Asda will have a refund scheme in place if you spent a certain amount, however it will still stop me going there as much due to the hassle!!0 -

Just wanted to say thank you to all of you on here for your great advice. I've been doing mystery shopping now for around six weeks and, although I live in a very small town, I've had around one a week. It's good fun even though the pays not amazing, but I've also had two "urgents" from GFK after they've telephoned me, so have had brilliant money from those.
My only worry now is that I will have mystery shopped everything around here within about 4 months!0 -

If I had car I would happily pay the 50p to park there. Walked from Livingston South station on Tuesday - nice walk through the woods in sunshine. But if it had been winter, or raining, or dark ... eww!0
