Shift patterns 5 days out of 7

Hello all,

I'm very new to different shifts and what they mean, so I wonder if someone could give me some help please?

Previously, I've done office work which was always 9-5 Mon-Fri so as you can see, I've not much idea on shifts :o

After almost 6 months of job searching, I'm starting to "think outside of the box" and looking at a Linen Porter position at a big hotel.

The shift pattern is 5 days out of 7, 30 hours per week, between 7.00am and 3.00pm

Hours is fairly obvious, its the 5 out of 7, does this mean, say Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed. With Thu and Fri off.

But not necessarily every weekend working.

Sorry if this is a silly question, :o

You have to apply in writing, rather than telephone call, so I can't ring to ask.

  • Yeah it will mean you work 5 days and get two off a week. Could be the same 5 day's you work with the same 2 off, or different days being worked each week and different days off
