I've only just joined groupon (for the Bodyshop voucher) but it's my understanding that 'tip' means if they don't have the right amount of applicants? I think they must have to meet a target before they can sell the deal.
As for the only buying one but more as gifts - from what I understand that means the vouchers would go to the recipients email address and be under their name as a voucher, do perfect for presents.
Not sure where the best place is to ask this TBH, but if it's not right then someone will move it for you.•¨¨*:•..•

I don't think you get the £6 until the voucher is spent as you get 7 days to return the voucher (unspent obv.) and get your money back, so if they gave you the £6 then the voucher was returned and refunded they'd lose out.•

Sorry to hijack a thread but it was the only one that came up when I searched and I wasn't sure where to start a new one.
I have just bought my first Groupon (for a haircut in Birmingham) and was just looking at the 'universal rukes' which apply to all groupons:
http://blog.groupon.co.uk/universal-fine-print-and-deal-faq/
One of the rules says:
How much should I tip when I redeem my Groupon?
Please tip on the full amount of the pre-discounted bill.
I'm confused, are we supposed to tip them too?0 -

Only if you normally would- it's basically just reminding you that a tip isn't included. So if you would normally tip a hairdresser, and you're happy with the "do" then tip them.
I had a groupon "do" a while back but I didn't tip as I found the salon incredibly unhelpful with booking- no appointments for groupon but could fit me in anytime if I paid full price....and I also didn't agree with being charged £5 for straighteners when I wasn't told there was a charge. My normal hairdressers don't charge for straightening, and wherever I've been before, will always tell you about additional charges. So I didn't tip.
Restaurant deals however, ,we've tipped as we've had some great meals.0 -
Ah right that makes sense thanks. Charging for straightening is shocking. I would have hoped that would have been included in the 'finish'. Hope mine is lol.0

Er, yes groupons work- you buy the deal and as long as the minimum needed are bought, you get emailed the voucher. If you look on the referrals board you can get someone £6 for joining through their link- and for anyone you refer you can then get £6 also in credit.0
