button holes - just the wedding party or everyone?

as I said in the title really. I made one last night and it was easier than i thought (although this particular one might not make the final cut, h2b thinks it looks like rabbit) so i could in theory make enough...

Are you doing one for all the men?

  • We're having buttonholes for the groom (a special on obviously), the best man, both our dads and my two brothers (they are ushers).
If other guests feel strongly about wearing a buttonhole, they can source one themselves ;)

Personally I thought giving a button hole to everyone was like asking them to wear a badge at our wedding...and it caused an almighty argument with my mother in law the day before the wedding when she announced she'd ordered one for everyone on her side of the family....
I think its personal preference....your flowers are lovely Twirly and youre having a much more intimate wedding ....you also have the added bonus that some could keep them after the wedding as a keepsake...

I just objected to a standard carnation...pink for the girls...white for the boys...possibly wouldn't have been so bad if MIL had at least asked what colour the other flowers were!
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

  • I guess you've got a bigger wedding party than me - I've only got the groom and his dad (the best man).

I've only got an additional 8 or 9 to make. but then i suppose i would have to make corsages for the ladeees too.

You make a good point! I've just remembered my first wedding, my grandad (who was giving me away) and I left in such a rush and panic because we were so late, forgot to put his button hole on, so we picked a flower from a bush outside the church and put it on him! No one noticed all day!

We are having buttonholes from groom, best man, 3 ushers and the 2 dads and corsages for the 2 mums.
  • When my sisters got married the only people who had buttonholes were my brothers-in-law, the best men, the ushers, the dads and my grandad. Mums and grandmas got corsages.
