Co Op Cashminder

If I just apply for a co-op cashminder, will it affect my credit score? I phoned up & they are sending me the forms to fill in, so I haven't got as far as applying in writing. I'm assuming it won't show up anywhere on my credit file till I do that (?) They did ask me over the phone for one of my other bank accounts (to verify my identity i think) & obviously pointed out to me re CCJs & BR. I haven't put anything in motion yet regarding BR & still trying to decide the best course of action for me, I may not go down that route, but my credit score is actually very good (amazingly) & I'm just such a nervous wreck at the moment that I'm anxious about doing anything stupid. Thanks for any advice! This sure is a roller-coaster ride:(

Applying for a basic bank account won't involve a credit search (though they may do an identity check) so it won't appear on your credit file.
