Which paperwork do I need to request from debt collector agency?? Advice please

Hi there,

I have come into an agreement with a debt collector agency to start making monthly payments to them.

However, I would like to get some sort of document from them beforehand that my debt was sold to them by my bank and a statement from the bank as I don't even know how much my debt is precisely.

Can you advise me what exactly I should ask the debt collector agency to send me before starting to make any payments to them and how best to protect myself?

Usually a notice of assignment. Or you could just send the prove it letter and wait to see what they produce.
