Printing leaflets help

I've been out of work for about a year now so I'm thinking of giving designing flyers for local businesses a go( don't know if I spelt that right) perhaps some body who does gardening or DIY or computer maitenance, I've done some and I thought that they looked good, I just need advice on advertising and cost, I'd deliver them myself-the ones that I did were done on white paper but I could use other colours-what sort of price do you think that you would be looking at for printing and delivering 1000 leaflets? and what about advertising I don't want to splash ut to much before I start and advice would be appreciated.
