Lake District

I'll be heading to the Lake District around Easter, can you please suggest things to do, good view points, nice walks, nice restaurants etc.

Essentially I think visiting the lakes and looking for somewhere lovely to go is dependent on where you are going.

Keswick is probably the most beautiful place (IMHO) with plenty of great fell walks (Latrigg, Skiddaw [if you fancy a tough one], Castlehead [if you are with kids], Walla Crag) - There is a great lake and theatre in Keswick and plenty of opportunities to do touristy type things (hire a rowing boat on the lake etc)

Grasmere is beautiful for a nice walk around the village and has a fantastic Gingerbread shop which you MUST visit if you like gingerbread - its TINY TINY TINY but soooooo nice

I would avoid Workington, Whitehaven, Carlisle, Penrith as I feel they are a bit on the scruffy side.

Those are just a few ideas - get in touch if you'd like some more.

Try posting on the UK holidays forum you'll probably get a bigger response. You can't beat Grasmere Gingerbread from near the Church.
