Slight Boots glitch with No7 voucher?

Hi everyone,
Not sure if this has been spotted but I'm sure I would have read about it if it had!
I went to boots today and picked up a No7 eyeshadow (£8) to use with my voucher, and some skincare stuff from the 3 for two (4.59 each).
When I put it through the self service till, it counted the eyeshadow as one of the 3 for 2 items at it's full price of £8, and took off one of the £4.59 items as the free one. When I put the voucher in, it took the fiver off making the eyeshadow £3, but left same item free.
So I paid £7.59 for those three items (£3+£4.59+Free).
Hope that makes sense and is of some use to somebody, not sure if it would work with other items!

yes thats right isn't it. The cheapest item free and then £5 off the other two items. Whatever the maths, sounds like a good deal to me. I need to stock up.Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 20160

But that would be right anyway wouldn't it? ie No7 cosmetic and No7 3 for 2, your 3 items £8 plus £4.59 (and £4.59 free one) = £12.59, minus the £5 voucher for No7 cosmetics = £7.59, which is what you paid?
Am I missing the glitch?0 -
No, balletshoes, that's correct. If you'd got 3 items at £4.59 it would have worked out better at just £4.18 to pay as cheapest item is free.0

The reason I thought it might be a slight glitch is because usually it's the cheapest item free, in this case that would have been the £3 eyeshadow, but it took that through as full price?
Freebird, If i'd have got 3 of the £4.59 ones the voucher wouldn't have worked would it?
It may happen all the time, I wasn't sure hence the '?' in the title!:D
Sorry if I've got people all excited for nothing!

What skincare stuff did you buy?:)Your greatness is measured by your kindness; your education and intellect by your modesty; your ignorance is betrayed by your suspicions and prejudices, and your real caliber is measured by the consideration and tolerance you have for others.

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think the glitch is that as the No7 range is on for 3 for 2 along side the skincare 3 for 2 you can actually mixed items from both ranges, i.e.
1 x No7 item
2 x any skin care items, 1 has to be cheaper then your no7 item.
So in affect you get 1 skin item free and then £5 knocked of your no7 item.
Will be really good if you can get a No7 item for as close to £5 as possible thus resulting in 1 free skincare item and 1 free no7 item (or pennies). i.e. you only pay for the most expensive skincare item.
get shopping everyone, i'm running away as i have so many toiletries already:A0 -
It was the Neutrogena 'spot stress' cleansing lotion and the moisturising fluid from the same range (green labels)
