1 More x Clarity Credit Management

Options
I have received a letter from Clarity Credit Management
Strange one (or maybe not, may be one of their usual )
There is not reference whatsoever to who the Client is or any figure.
It just says "contact us about a personal matter"
:think::think:

The person I share the house with is concerned about his credit score being affected and would like me to stop these letter coming by therefore prompting me to call/respond

What should I do?

  • Not sure what you should do, I'm sure someone will be along soon to help though.

Unless you are financially linked to your housemate (i.e. loan, mortgage, bank account) your credit score won't have any bearing on theirs. It's a myth that addresses are 'blacklisted'

  • Is it addressed to you, using your correct name and address? If any detail is wrong, bin it, it's probably a fishing trip. If it contains no details, then you have no reason to contact them - you wouldn't respond to a spam email just because it had reached your inbox, would you?

If you do decide to call them, reset your phone to withhold your number or they will start calling you constantly.

Do you have any outstanding debt that they may be chasing? If so, go back through your records and get prepared. You can send them a 'Prove it' Letter, a CCA request, statute barred, depending on circumstances. The most important part of it is the Prove it - they have to prove a debt is yours.

Tell your housemate to calm down. It won't affect him.

Until they can be bothered to write giving full details of what they are chasing, then I would ignore them.

As said, you wouldn't respond to any other type of unsolicited letter asking you to ring someone.

As far as I am aware of I do not have any debt
Also had a look some time ago at Experian and did not find anything there
I had a letter for a small figure 55 pound months ago. It was an old Orange bill that I disputed but then forgot about it. I paid the credit agency over the phone (I Know that is bad) It was 2 agencies involved actually (Fredickson and Global Arrow) I asked and was sent receipt at home.
On Experian this record has not been updated. Maybe I should right a letter about them cancelling/ammending the record with "satisfied"? Anyway apart from this nothing else I can think of in the last 6 years.
Anyway... I want to ignore for now
We are sure bailifs cannot just turn up at door (as my housemate fear....)?
