It is totally unacceptable and unprofessional that there was an offer on the table which you were not told about, regardless of how poor it was - they have a legal duty to inform you of all offers. Good luck. :)

As a result of the lack of information, the last offer was called a calderbank offer. I think this is quite serious now. ( As if it wasn't serious enough before )

Seeing the solicitor this week, so hopefully I have some ammo to fire at him.
    ut I do honest
Unfortunately, even if the divorce gets settled, I can see this rolling on for a while.

Are you talking about the current offer or the previous one?

It is a calderbank v calderbank offer. Your OH's legal team are saying it is a fair offer. If you refuse it, then the judge will decide a fair division of marital assets. If the judge makes a settlement less than this offer to you then costs may be awarded against you. So yes it is serious and you need good advice on whether to settle or not. This judgement can only be made when you take into account all the assets of the marriage.

    .

I have only seen one offer, the current calderbank one. I have written to the solicitor ahead of a meeting tomorrow to make sure he is now in receipt of a copy of the previous one. Which I never saw!

    Thanks again.

I'm going through similar situation. Ex's Inheritance paid off mortgage, rest went into 'joint savings' and some in my name.

The Facts: Ex has susbstantial pension and large salary. Im unemployed at present & just temping off and on. Very small pension.

Offer: Was offered house 20% of savings. EX wants no access to pension (worth more than the house) and 80% of savings.
This equates to 65/35 split in Ex's favour.

I thought everything was 50/50 and a bit more for the parent with care which is me. I have refused this offer but looks like ive got a fight on my hands

    Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you need a solicitor who specialises in divorce. On the face of what you are saying you are being offered a very poor deal, especially as you are the parent with care.

Oh yes you are entitled to your opinion:mad: but this is obviously just in your one case. Ill have you know I`m going through a divorce at min & my ex is getting his own way over everything & I mean everything:mad:. He is self employed & in the current climate he has no 'work' althou he is out every day in his van & even has someone working for him & he is telling everyone around he is really busy!! He has put me & my 2 kids out of my house because he says its his. My solicitor has tried to 'get' him in every way possible but can't:mad: He is always one step ahead & has his backside covered. I have been nothing but a loving wife for 14 years until he decided he was bored!!

So its not always women getting what they want cause its their reward!!
