A Friday only 1.00 saver club...or whatever day you choose

I have started putting away every 2.00 coin I get into a coke bottle with a slot and the cap tightly screwed ( not that any would fit to get out of course
) and have 46.00 already.
So I thought, well what about saving the 1.00 coin the same way too, but as hubby pointed out I will end up leaving us with nothing in the week as 1.00 coins do get used more.
Soooo.... I hope I may have come to the solution on that one so not to take a big chunk of money away from the coffers on a daily basis.
I only put 1.00 coins from my purse in the coke bottle on a Friday
I think that one I can get away with
Anyone else do this?
PS...popped 5.00 in there after doing weekly shop this morning.

Not in debt at the moment, but been there in the past and realise I'm the kind of person who could easily fall back into it with the self destructing spending button so making sure I keep on top of being a good girl.

Proud to be dealing with my debts!
Life is like a ferrari - it goes too fast - but thats ok because I can't afford it anyway!0 -
Yes, when you're breaking into notes and into the bank in order to save the coins, it doesn't make any sense at all! This one day a week might be a way around it.
I save £2 as an easy way of cutting down my "fun spending" budget without really noticing it. But I'll only save them if I don't need them. I'm not going to break a £10 just to save one for example!0 -
i reckon you'll all hang on to those £1 coins till a friday...on the thursday night just need to pop out for a pint of milk but only have a tenner then ask at the till oh can i have £1 coins in the change please lol...go for it...you have nothing to loose and everything to gain0

I like this idea. Will empty my purse on a friday evening and pop my £1 coins into my saving tin. Won't keep count as I have a sealed tin and will only empty it when full. Will add to my signature... Fully Paid up member of the Friday £1 saver and with that I'm off to check my purse!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Glad some think it's a good idea and as someone said it all goes in the right direction.

I do this at the moment but with all the coins I have. I was given a coin sorter as one of my bday presents and have religiously done this for almost 5 months.0

I am going to do a variation on this if you don't mind! As you can see from my sig I am in the £2 coin savers club. I am saving it up in one of those large tins you have to open with a can opener to get the money out. Anyway, what I am going to do is throw in the odd £1 here and there as well, but not keep a track of how many of them I am collecting. When the tin is full I will use the £2 coins to help pay off my debts, but any £1 coins in there I will use for a treat for me!:j
