i have had a letter through from a debt company that i agreed to pay £50/month to for a gym memebrship that failed 3 direct debits. i tried to make my first payment on agreed date but they didnt accept my card. i couldnt send a cheque as i dont have a cheque book, so i have opened another bank account that comes with a visa debit card that will accept but this takes time to come through. in the mean time they sent a letter to say they are slapping me with a ccj BUT i can stop it if i pay up in full now (which i cant). they also put in a load of charges for solicitors, courts fees etc.
should i pay these court fees etc? i havent even been taken to court!!! my card is due to come through any day so i can pay my agreed payment.

Have they sent court papers through for you to complete before they go to court to apply for a CCJ? or have they just said that the will or may take you to court and that would involve additional fees?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
