Notice of Intent from Local Council

Hopefully one of you can stop me panicing!

I belong to a sports club and we have a regular booking for facilities at a local school which gets invoiced quarterly by the council. As I made the booking the invoices for payment are addressed to me personally at my home address. I'm not the club treasurere and for variuous reasons the last couple of invoices have been paid late so I've received 'red' final demands for payment. They've then been paid. This time round it's not been paid again and I've received a letter from the council advising that if not paid within 14 days they will inititiate court proceedings to get payment. There's no problem paying the invoice, it's just that the person responsible hasn't done it for personal reasons. I'm trying to sort out so that it doesn't happen again.

Anyway, my question is - will these late payments count in any way towards my credit record? They're not for a formal financial agreement like a credit card or mobile phone contract so I'm hoping that, although not a great way to be running the relationship, there are no official blank marks against me for it. Anyone know?

They wouldn't affect your credit file - unless they did take you to court and obtained a CCJ against you.
I would suggest that as well as ensuring they are paid on time in future you also ensure they are readdressed to go to the sports club or at least the treasuer.
