At the mo its just the 2 of us but i will need one big enough to cope with a family in the next year or so.
I really want something with a quick wash facility and want it to be energy efficient of course.
Not bothered about the colour.

You'll get a lot of good info here, but a lot will depend on the capacity, budget, warranty etc that you have/want. I recently went for an LG with 2 year warranty, 8kg drum, lifetime warranty on the motor & all the functions I wanted (programmable/duvet wash/quick wash/30 degree wash/baby-safe extra rinse) and it's been fantastic. Very quiet, even at 1400rpm!

I've just bought this one from Comet and it's fab!
It looks very basic & I was surprised at all the different options it has. The quick wash take 32 mins and cleans the clothes just as well as a full cycle, so that's the one I use mostly. I use one of the hour long washes for towels etc and on those you can choose your spin RPM and temperature. It's a nice sized machine for a fitted kitchen as it's pretty compact.
Some of the reviews said it was noisy but I've never heard it! Big bonus for me as I live in a flat lol
I have a credit meter for my electric and it's been on loads and doesn't seem to use much money at all.
Comet also offer a Sunday delivery which was brilliant for me as I work 7 days a wk, half day sunday, so I arranged it for between 2 & 6pm and it meant I didn't have to worry about getting someone to wait in the house. They unpacked the machine in the lorry and took away my old machine with no fuss or mess at all. Delighted with the whole thing.•¨¨*:•..•

Don't buy a washer dryer as you will have nothing but trouble. If you buy a hotpoint check the drum to see if the paddles are metal as the plastic ones keeps snapping off.0

Hotpoint are a big no-no if you want reliability...see the Washer Help website listed above.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
