I'm looking for some adive on myt next steps to tackle my debt.
I'm roughly £37k in debt (£24k unsecured, £13k Secured) and have missed payments on a very regular basis, I was in a DAS (Scotland) but cancelled this as I felt I could pay off the debt far quicker than being tied to a DAS.
Now I have found myself back in the same scenario, over committing to payments I simply cannot make. I'm receiving calls / letters on a daily basis threatening litigation, court proceedings etc, i'm really worried & I don't know what to do, who would be the best people to speak to, as I've heard all the stories about Debt Management companies charging you a small fortune etc etc.
Thanks for any help given.

Hi,
Welcome to the boards - you will hopefully get the advice you need here. I'm sorry I don't know what a DAS is.
A good place to start here so people can understand your situation is to post a SOA )Statement of Affairs detailing all of your income and expenditure, listing all your debts, the APR's and the minimum payments.

Thanks D9!
A DAS is a Debt Arrangement Scheme, I believe it's only applicable in Scotland, it freezes all your interest but if you revoke the DAS you can't get into another one
I'm not sure of all the Interest rates so I'll have to check.
Would the CCCS be a good place to call?
Thanks again :-)0 -
Yes CCCs would be a good place to call.
Any of the charities are good to call, don't get in touch with any company that charges you for help with debt.
Good places to call include: CCCs, NationalDebtline and CAB0 -
