please help! we took out finance on a caravan in 2005 with black horse- we was ok paying the monthly fee until I suffered a breakdown the following year and stopped work.To start with we sold the caravan and cleared some debts to give us a breather. After a while we couldn't afford to keep up repayments so we contacted black horse - along with all the other companies we had debts with -- explained situation and advised how much we could afford to pay... all other companies agreed interest free payments -- Black horse didn't -- so for the £50mnth we was paying £30 went on charges and then interest... 2years ago we told Black horse we would stop making payments and they could take us to court unless they stopped the charges as our debt to them was increasing not decreasing...they verbally agreed to stop interest but have still been charging a default notice of £30- they told us they would look at these charges after the loan had been paid --we have always paid the £50 --increasing it to £100 about a year ago--not missing a payment--
Black horse call every 3mnths and we go through the same thing with them until this last time-- they have been trying to get me to agree to another agreement (again verbal not in writing)-this last call actually told me more - 5year agreement with £1000 interest -- I wouldn't agree and they then told me our prev arrangement was cancelled so it was 5 year agreement or nothing -- I said again well take me 2 court-- and that is how it was left... I am agrieved that after me keeping to our agreement they have symbolically pulled it from under me plus why they have consistently charged me even though I have shown them evidence of my financial situation---
Where to go from here?

Hi sorry to hear about trouble you are having. We are having similar problems but just about to tell them we have had anough and they take us to court, they charged £370 interest and £70 ish default fee in January alone this year! Our debt to them have increased so much that it is now about £18k on a car that is only worth about £5k now and the debt is increasing beacuse of the interest and charges, it makes you wonder why you try being responsible and trying to pay your debts off when they dont meet you half way!
I do hope you get some help. Can you complain to Financial services Ombudsman for their behaviour?0
