I was looking at the leaflet and was wondering about this one.
Any of our Danish friends or any MSE member tried these and can give a review??

Looks like liquorice sweets with a hot taste and a liquid centre??
I'm not a great pepper fan, but my hubby is - might be worth a try.

Wish I knew, I always had the salty liquorice ones in Sweden in my youth. They're an acquired taste, but I love them.
Thanks for this OP, looking forward to a wander down there at the weekend.

When in Denmark, I eat lots of the small glasses of pickled herring and also spreadable pate. On black rye bread of course. I'm gonna buy a few of each tomorrow. The herring keeps in a fridge forever and you can freeze down the pate.
Pity they don't have Danish red cabbage (rødkål) though. Absolutely yummy with most meat and of top of 'leverpostej'. (Danish for spreadable pate):D

  • Thanks OP I have sent my OH off to LIDL today to grab some of the Finnish rye bread, and Finnish rye crackers.
I also expect he will get himself some of the ginger biscuits as he took quite a fancy to them when we were in Finland 3 weeks ago and I wouldn't let him bring any back due to risk of excess baggage :D
    Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

My favorite is the herrings in mustard but I like the curry one as well. :DUnfortunately LIDL concentrates too much on sweets products in their 'Scandinavia Week'.

    Bon Appetit.

Got some sweets, both the pepper and the classic.
Sucking on a pepper one now and they are strange - liquorice with a hot taste. Actually worth a try.

    Forget the herrings. lol

  • The macaroon fingers are lovely.

The chocolate oat balls are like the rum truffles you get in a baker

The wheat chocolate oat biscuits are substantial

The cinnamon toast is like crisprolls with cinnamon sugar.

The mazarin tarts are apricot not marzipan

Not tried the crispbreads or the puff pastry cases yet but the cases look interesting for fillings.
I need to feel the fear and do it anyway
  • Loved the Scandinavina week in Lidl. Very nice.

Have found another place that sells some of the same stuff online in uk

  • Thanks for that. I will be dropping in one of these days to get this:
