Debt not mine

Hi all, I need some advice a company recently wrote to me chasing me for a debt of 134.00 for Next catalogue. The debt is over 9 years old. I rang them and told them it wasnt my debt so the company tried to get a copy of the credit agreement from Next but they said there isn't one but my date of birth is correct. The debt is linked to a property I rented 9 years ago I wasn't in the property long and a young couple moved in after me. I keep telling this company it's not my debt and I believe the couple that moved in after me may have used my details there were many odd events happen when they moved in including a fire suspected arson. What can I do ?

I think there is some sort of Prove it letter you can download? Am sure someone helpful will be on in a mo!

If the debt is nine years old it is statute barred anyway so they cant force you to pay it as long as you havent acknowledged the debt in the last 6 years.

Statute Barred is 6 years in England and 5 years in Scotland.

You dont even need to go down the 'prove it' road,

Send them a statute barred letter and you wont hear from them again.
