Could someone point me in the right direction please

Options
I am struggling to keep up the payment of my tesco CC, it is up to 2500:o.

I am on JSA so really can't keep up all the minimum payments at the moment.

Could someone point me into the direction of the template letter i could send them to maybe cut the minimum payment or to offer a token payment for a while.

Thank you

    Thanks for the replies.

I pay over the phone using a debit card. Does this make a difference?

    Thanks

    Who operates Tescos CC?

Tesco may not be as sneaky as other creditors but I recommend that you open another, basic, bank account with a company to whom you owe nothing and try and close the existing one. Otherwise there is a risk that they will just take money from your account. Then cancel the card.

Hi - a couple of templates here might be a starting point - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=21654579&postcount=49 and http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=21654579&postcount=52

although not quite right for your situation I would amend to say in the circumstances bit that you are currently unemployed and only in receipt of benefits. And assuming you are not seeking advice remove that part of the letter.

If this isn't your only unsecured debt then just paying token payments to one and carrying on full minimums to another might not go down well with Tesco. If this is the situation I would suggest you seek some debt advice from one of the charities before you send the letter.

EDIT - RAS Tesco do their own cards themselves now.
