Wow - that was a mega overpayment you have made. Well done.

You sound quite young? I was 24 when we bought this house, and i am so grateful we overpaid from the start. When we had kids i decided to stay at home with them, so overall we have reduced payments first so i can stay home, and now we are working on reducing the term so it is gone quicker.

Just bear in mind life changes. You may get married, have kids, be made redundat. Just doing what you are now is a good protection from these events and helps you make the right decision for you when you get there. I can't imagine being forced to work and leave my kids all day now. Choice prevents so much stress.

Great you are heading down this path, and you will get plenty of support and best wishes here. :D

Well done Audi! My frustration with saving is that I have good months then get really annoyed when I don't quite manage to maintain my high overpayments. But keep up the good work Audi :)

I try to live below my means at the moment :o. I will treat myself at the end of this month so to boost my morale and start saving as much as i can ready to make OP next years:cool:

this forum has been a great help on keeping me on track :A

Michelle you summed up my reasons for overpaying nicely, its the get married, have kids and be made redundant at some point in life which keeps me going.
