I would urge anyone considering this offer to think very carefully. A friend of mine took advantage of a similar offer a while back and bought me a subscription for a year on the back of it. It has taken me three months to get rid of all the related SPAM emails coming from the group that produces the comic and I'm still not convinced that they haven't sold my details elsewhere too. In addition they still write a professional but Viz style letter to me every month urging me to re-subscribe and promising they will "stop sending annoying letters" when I do.

d.o.o.g, sorry to hear it. I took advantage of the offer when it was available 12 months ago and since never had a single email or mailshot from them. Could it be your pal didn't deselect the marketing option?
