Hi all,
I'm thinking of going for this and Sk:n seem to be the ones that keep coming up as good.
I'm only at research stage at the moment, but finding it hard to go about the research! Sk:n are the only ones I know about that are accessible.
Does anyone have any recommendations for or against Sk:n?
Many thanks in advance,
pippitypip

I know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!

Hi,
I'd recommend sk:n. I didn't do much research into the alternatives (as I won a competition for £500 worth of treatment at sk:n so didn't need to), but I've just had treatment number 3 out of 8, and so far I'm really happy with it. I think I'll be paying for other treatment areas in the future too.
Go and have a look at the clinic, they're extremely friendly and helpful, the clinics are very clinical which put my mind at ease, and they really seem to know their stuff. They've also been in the media (for good things) a lot more than I ever realised.Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012

Thanks Amy. I'm going to an Open Day at sk:n tomorrow evening so will report back!
Can't sign up there and then as no money at the mo, so just going for an idea of prices and get a feel for them.
Thanks,

Ooo, another thing while I think of it. When I went for my first session, they had a special offer that if you buy a pack of 8 treatments (which is recommended for the way the hair grows apparently, blah blah blah) you got 30% off. That offers gone now, but I'm sure they'll have good deals sporadically, so if you do decide that sk:n is for you, might be worth waiting until they've got another good deal on.Aiming for that elusive 'debt free' by Christmas 2012

I go there. I have the 8 treatment pack it works out the cheapest. They were adamant that I would need that many. However after two sessions the hairs on my chin that had resisted electrolysis have nearly all gone and the upper lip hair also . I suspect I might only need one more session - you can be suprised by odd hairs coming back becuase of the hair cycles all being different.
So I would buy maybe 6 rather than 8- I will use the rest of mine for some hair on back of thighs or maybe bikini line, but I am a bit annoyed that I got so many sessions. It doesnt overly matter to me as I am doing it on tesco points which is why I went to Skn - that and the fact that they are were I live and they are a national company
Every woman and her dog is into laser hair removal - all clinics have their lasers and clinics checked by Healthcare Commision thats compulsary. The main question to ask is how long that practioner has been doing it. They will have done a training course but experience important. They arent nurses, doctors etc just trained in the procedure.
If I was you, if you are not in too much of a hurry look for a GRoupon offer as they are brilliantprice wise - maybe some of the MSE contributers have gone down that route - then investigate the clinic before you jump
I have prob been lucky in no of sessions - being older there is def less hair growth.
Whatever, go for it, you won't regret it. Good luck and will answer any more questions0 -
I went to the Sk:n clinic in Glasgow for several sessions of laser hair removal, and I was very pleased with the results. I'd definitely recommend them.0

Thanks guys.
The groupon deals do worry me a bit - why would they want to discount SO much?
There was one this morning at over 90% off - that puts me off a bit (not very MSE I know) but makes me think why why why are they discounting so low, doesn't look very professional I guess.
Anyway I'm a while off doing it so will keep an eye out.
Thanks all,

I suspect that laser removal is gradually going to get cheaper as more salons do it - years ago electrolysis very expensive and special saloon too.
they have to recoup the cost of the laser of cuorse but it suprises me how short the sessions are - about five mins max for chin and top lip the rest is questions about have you been sunbathing etc. Certainly in and out in 15 mins
So look at groupon and investigate salon - how long around, how long has operator been doing laser etc. Also, SKN do have special offers from time to time when you get more sessions for same money so just look at their website ever two or three weeks. dont forget that if you leave it till the summer more difficult though as must not sunbathe for certain length of time.0
