Cancelling payment protection

Hi there!

Newbie here.....I've used this site alot for saving pennies, but now i need to ask a question about my bank loan.

I read the recent news about changing my bank PPI to another cheaper one and thought I may go ahead with that. But does anyone now if i can get back the payments that i have already made for the past year??

  • I doubt very much that they would give your past payments as you have been insured during that time
  • I very much doubt it. Even though you haven't claimed on the insurance, you've still been recieving a service over the past year (i.e. the ability to claim if required) and that is what you've been paying for.

regular saver 1 is correct you will not get it back as you have been covered and if you need to use it was there. I would look around though

Of course you can't get the protection payments back - would you be asking this if you hadn't claimed on your home or motor insurance for a year? No - you paid for a service.
