I bought loads of pears and plums from the market last week and they are going a bit soft now so would like to use them up.. Was thinking a crumble, but not sure if they go together? I have some frozen stewed apple so if they dont should I make apple and plum crumble would that work?
Or I have just been having a look at "cobblers" is that what I think it is - fruit with sponge mixture on the top?
Or any other suggestions?

When I worked as a dessert chef a few years ago I once made a 'plum clafouti', I don't have the recipe but I'm sure it's on Google. Was tasty, sort of like a sweet yorkshire pudding with plums baked into it.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

Does it have to be together? If you have enough of each, I'd make a pear tarte tatin, and a plum frangipane tart.0

pear is lovely is an upside down cake with chocolate sponge on top.
The plums I would make a pastry base and cover with plums with a crumble topping over the top, and bake. Yum in fact, I think I will make one today

pears are just beautiful lightly poached in white wine with a nice cheeseboard as a special 'grown -up' dessert0

Hi
I made apple and plum crumble last week and it was lovely. Also poached the left over plums and had them with yogurt for breakfast.:)Sealed Pot Challenge No 089-Finally got a signature.:rotfl::j0 -
I made a plum cake at the weekend,
150g each of sugar & butter creamed together
50g polenta or plain flour (depending on what you have)
2 eggs beaten in slowly
rind of an orange and the juice of 1/2 orange
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
half or thickly slice some plums into the bottom of a flan dish, pour cake mixture on top and bake for 20-30 mins, the cake should spring back when gently pushed.
should work with any fruit.0 -
Thanks everyone... I made a chocolate pear upside down cake this morning and it must have been good because it's all gone now...
Will try the clafouti thingy with the plums tomorrow I think.0
