I've used this website for my last 2 shops and I have to say it is very good. However, a few warnings.
- it seems that whichever supermarket you choose to be the base for your shop always comes out as the cheapest. I believe the reason for this is that many items aren't found at the other supermarkets especially when you choose own brand products ven when they may have an equivalent own brand product.
I recently tested this by doing the same shop with ASDA and then with Tesco. You can't get it exactly right because each store has some slightly ddifferent offers. When I did the shop with ASDA, it showed that ASDA was the cheapest followed by Tesco, Sainsburys and Ocado. When I did the shop with Tesco, surprise surprise, it showed that Tesco was the cheapest followed by ASDA, Sainsburys and Ocado.
By looking at the actual amount on each shop, ASDA worked out as the cheapest option.
So, if you can spare the time, it may be worth doing one weeks shop with both stores as close as you possibly can product wise, without purchasing of course just to see which store is cheapest for you.
I didn't bother with Sainsburys or Ocado as its pretty much guaranteed they'd be more expensive.
The other point to make is that its still not compatible with Firefox. You can add products by browsing through the range but the search function does not work and you cannot complete your shop. It does however make you aware of this when you begin shopping.
By the way, I actually ended up getting the shop from Tesco this time as I needed it for Friday and the first ASDA delivery was Saturday, but at least I know for the future!
