Newbie but looking for advice about Natwest and it is long, sorry.

Hi, sorry to jump in feet first here but I am looking for advice.

About 18mths ago I paid a cheque out of an account which I don't often use with the Natwest and I transferred the correct amount to cover the account across to the Natwest account.

At the beginning of January I recieved a letter from them telling me that there was an overdue overdraft of £376.70 on the account. At this point it wasnt from the collections centre. I wrote to them explaining that I was more than happy to pay the arreas off and enclosed a copy of a payment I made that day via internet banking and a proposal for the rest.

Since then I have had 4 letters telling me that I have ignored the letters and they have issued a default notice and charged me £30 then I had a letter saying I had made a withdrawal and they would charge me £6 a day. I haven't made a withdrawal for 18mths. I have tried ringing but no one answers. I know they have had my letters as I changed my address and acknowledged that I had written to them by saying that my proposal was duly noted but they have never told me the actual amount owing in any of the letters and no-one ever picks up the phone.

I have made them another payment today of £150 in cash and will do another for £300 on Friday which then should cover everything and leave some money in the account.

I dont know what else I can do really? Any advice. I am more than prepared to pay it, and I have started to pay it off.

I am very anxious about this, and its starting to affect me somewhat.

Thanks in advance.
