For the past 10 days someone from Fredrickson International has been calling my landline number (it's not in my name,i lodge with someone) .They have been calling 2 - 3 times each day since the 11th of February. I haven't answered the phone as i have nobody who calls me on the landline. When i've checked for messages (using 1571) an automated message has been left, asking me to call them on a London prefix number and it quotes a reference number that i am supposed to use. A couple of days ago i received a letter from them stating DO NOT IGNORE - IMMEDIATE PAYMENT REQUIRED. They said that their client is Arrow Global Guernsey Limited and that they want £63.74. I have no idea what this sum of money is for and have never heard of either of these companies. i'm going to send them a 'prove it' letter. Should i send it recorded delivery and also i noticed that they have 2 addresses, one in a P O box the other is in the west end in London

It sounds like a scam to me, but hopefully someone will be able to respond to your post with better information. Maybe try Googling the name too?
Found this by Googling, it may help:

It sounds like a Phishing exercise, you could send them the Prove it letter. I would be tempted to leave it a little longer to see what they send you next. As has been said before, they often send the same letter to several people with the same name. They Trawl the electoral role, council tax, catalogue company databases and the like. At the end of the day they don't care if they have the right person as long as they can threaten someone into paying.
Arrow Global is a DCA I found it in the CSA members list. So I assume they have bought an old debt from somewhere.
At the end of the day it isn't a massive amount that they are looking for, As I said if it were me I would have some fun with these crooks. Make them wait, then apply for the CCA while telling them that all communications are to be in writing. I would incorporate the remove my phone number from your database letter. Wait for them to screw up which they nearly always do and then complain to the FOS and FSA.
This will cost them money even if the compliant is upheld.
Then at the end of the day if they don't drop it make an offer of a token payment of £1.00 per month.
I'ts frightening when you are new to all of this, but once you have seen how these sharks operate it's gratifying to play them at their own game.
Sorry for the essay.

Arrow Global seem to buy old mobile phone debts. Hopefully the 'prove-it' will either elicit more info or persuade them to !!!!!! off.0

Received a letter today from Fredrickson International. it states LETTER BEFORE ACTION. "this debt must be paid in full to these offices within the next 7 days otherwise we will take immediate action" they've slapped on £15 court fees and £50 solicitor costs. It now totals £128.74. Can they actually do this?! They also said "Should it be necessary to issue proceedings in the County Court (or the sheriff court as may be appropriate),further additional costs will be added to the balance outstanding."
EDIT - At the bottom of this letter they also put "If a judgement or Decree remains unsatisfied a bailiff or sheriff officer may be instructed to recover assets to discharge the outstanding debt. Judgment debts are registered with the court. A judgment debt or Decree against you would seriously affect your abilty to obtain credit in the future." . This is really worrying (due to work commitments i've yet to send off a prove it letter) i can't pay the £63.74 at the moment, let alone another £65 in charges.0 -
The letter before action is sent in order to comply with the pre action protocol, which you are required to comply with if you intend to issue proceedings against a debtor. If they issue proceedings, then certain costs in chasing the debt can be added to it.
As the debt is below £500, if they get a judgment against you, I do not think they can send it to the sheriffs office. All they can do is send the court baliff round.
Time to ask them to prove the debt. They can issue proceedings against you even if they have no proof, it will just be difficult for them to obtain judgment if you defend it. However, if you ignore letters from the court, they will obtain judgment in defualt, which is effectively a CCJ.0 -
I've been inundated with phonecalls from them for the past 2 weeks. It's always an automated message asking me to call them on a number and quote some account number. They literally call morning, noon and night. At least 2 - 3 times every single day. What has annoyed me with this is that the number they are calling me on isn't even in my name.0

They are a debt collection agency. I am currently paying them for an old Orange debt - They are experts in tracing people (my debt was 2 years and 3 addresses old!)
They are quite horrible to deal with, and they have a three stage system.
1. They will tell you that you need to pay the full amount there and then - Say no.
2. They will then tell you that you need to pay it in 7 days - say no.
3. They will then tell you it needs to be payed over 3 month - at this point I said ok.
Now thats set up and Ive been paying it (im coming up to third month) they havent bothered me with phone calls or letters.0 -
They've said in a previous letter about despite previous reminders. I've had NO previous reminders. If this truly is an old orange debt then it's at least 5 - 6 years old and i'm fairly sure that i paid it in full0

No they haven't - read it carefully. There will be 'ifs' and mays' in there.
The debt is still £63.74, and no-one is going to take court action for that!
Have they told you the account number yet? Do you recognise it? Do Orange confirm the amount owing and do you agree with this?
Just noticed that you haven't sent the prove-it letter.
SEND THE PROVE-IT LETTER! (Apologies for shouting)0
