Wonga doing me over, any ideas?!

Hello and good afternoon to all, I wonder if any of you have any advice for me...

I had a short-term loan from wonga.com, having used their service before I knew what charges to expect etc, and had not had a problem before.
The loan was due to be repaid on the 16th, but I paid it a day EARLY on the 15th, with the payment leaving my account and showing on my bank statement instantly.
I logged on to wonga.com on the 16th, just to check everything was in order, and to my surprise found it saying my account was in arrears. I called wonga.com straight away, explained the situation and was asked to email a screengrab of my bank statement showing the payment, which of course I did straight away. I was told someone would look into it and call me back.
So I waited...
On the 17th I called again, this time on the phone for an hour, explaining the situation and that I had already emailed proof etc. When the customer service agent stated that I HADN'T emailed them I stated I would email them again, with proof of my original email just to support the case.
And I carried on waiting...

Today, I phoned again, explained the situation again, and was assured that the case would be passed to Head Office and someone would call me back (sounds familiar).

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks

Turboboy

    How did you pay Wonga?

Debit Card transaction on their website? or did you make a one off transfer from your bank account to them?

  • Hi Ben

I paid with my debit card on their website, as I have done on previous occasions without problem.

    Thanks

Don't talk to me about Wonga. Had an issue paying them back and called to make alternative arrangements to pay by card. This evening I transferred £160 to my card account and got in a taxi to Sainsbury's. By the time I got the cashpoint Wonga had removed £140, contrary to our arrangement. Called the bank straight away and they were utterly useless.

Moral of the story? If you can't afford it, do without, don't borrow anything from these people.
