I am throwing everything I can at my debts but don't feel like any of it is improving. I know it is but I don't feel as though I'm seeing any benefits yet. How do you keep motivated??? I'm struggling to keep myself in check and not go out and think, 'Sod it! Can't tell the difference anyway!' and blow all my hard earned cash on some nice shiny new shoes.....HELP!!! I need to stay on track!:(

I was like this when I first started trying to pay my debts off. I'd pay a little, feel like I was getting nowhere and go out and spend then feel even worse and start over again.
Its a hard thing to do but is worth it and even though you might not notice a huge difference at first, it will be happening and when you notice that, even the smallest differences start making you feel happy and like you are in control.
Stick with it and you will get there, you are not alone, there will more people know that feeling than what you realise0 -
Me too - I get soooo fed up. But in your sig you say ' this is the year where I clear the debts'. That is my aim too, when I get down I think, would I rather have one year on a massively tight budget or five with debts hanging over me?0

I know! I need to keep thinking about how it will feel when I'm done. I have developed some kind of guilt though when I buy anything that isn't budgeted for. And talk about becoming obsessed with my money! Last month I could account for every single penny i spent. I know people think I'm sad but it is making me think more rather than just handing over the debit card. Just have to remember I'm in it for the long haul until it's done.
I did try to sell some things on Ebay but was a bit disheartened when they took their cut of things and I hadn't made as much as I thought. Might try a car boot. That way when I leave it's all my money!Don't be 'Good' - Be 'Amazing'0 -
From the bit I have seen you are doing really well. Sometimes you can go full whack and then you may want to slow down a bit just remeber any progress is good so try not to stress as much.:j0

That's so true about the guilt. You do have to remember to make the odd small allowance for 'non-budgeted' things, even if its household/ car emergencies. Have you got a Tesco Clubcard. You can change your points for vouchers for meals out so you feel like you're getting a treat, and even better, free!0

One of the best tips I read was not to buy anything the first time you see it.
Most of the time I end up forgetting what it was I saw anyway even though I thought "I have to have it" when I saw it.
When I do remember, chances are it's sold out or reduced next time I spot it. Doesn't work for online shopping, but stops real-life impulse buys0 -
I have read that on here a few times about going away and thinking about it! Have to admit, it has worked. Still don't have that blouse I've seen a few months ago on Very....and I don't mind that I don't have it. There's willpower in here somewhere.....:rotfl:Don't be 'Good' - Be 'Amazing'0
