Urgent Help Required - Mackenzie Hall Debt Collectors

Hi,
I have been trying to arrange a payment plan with Quick Quid for a loan that has been outstanding quite a few months now. However everytime I approached them the only thing they could do was a 3 month plan (debt of £622.50) which due to commitments etc I just couldnt afford.
Every single time I contacted them thats all they could do for me, which on a monthly wage of £1055 after tax doesnt leave me with much for rent, food, other bills etc to live on.
This has now been passed to the debt collectors Mackenzie Hall who have accpeted a token payment of £22.50 for this month but require the rest over 6. Now I am in a lot of debt, I have payment plans coming out of my ears so I just cant afford this. They are saying if I dont pay this they will take me to court and get a 1/3 of my wages towards this, is this even true?
I honestly felt that bullied and pressurised by the lady on the phone I had to hang up as I was in tears.
Please can anyone help me, where can I go from here?
Thank you

Don't talk to these idiots on the phone. Only deal with them in writing. They are saying if I dont pay this they will take me to court and get a 1/3 of my wages towards this, is this even true?
Nope.
If they went to court and got a CCJ, then the court would set what instalments have to be paid, not MH.
In theory, if you failed to pay instalments ordered then they could apply to the court for an attachment of earnings order. But 99.9% of the time if you don't bury your head in the sand about the CCJ, they will never have the opportunity to do that.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Stop speaking to MacHall and quickquid on the phone, places like that thrive on bullying you.
Work out how much you can afford to pay a month towards the debt. Then write to MH saying that this is what you can afford a month and make sure you then pay it to them each month regardless of whether they say they will accept it or not. Send the letter recorded and keep a copy for yourself. Don't pay them by direct debit or give them your card details. Ideally set up a standing order (ask them for their details to do this) or ask for a payment book to make payments.
They may ask you to send in a financial statement to show your income & outgoings to show you have offered all you can afford.
If they did decide to take you to court (unlikely but possible) then you would fill in the court forms to show how much you can afford to pay each month, the judge would then grant a CCJ and ask you to pay in installments that you can afford. Only if you don't keep up with those installments could they consider applying for an attachment of earnings - and even if they do this there is a specific formula that calculates how much you would have to pay dependant on your wages etc.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thank you, so what steps should I take from here? Do I write and offer them a plan etc?
Im so confused, and a bit of an emotional wreck after that call. How do I get them to stop harrassing me via telephone, and can they turn up at my door without warning?0 -
If they are calling you then send this letter - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=11571485&postcount=4
They won't turn up at your door - even if they did they would have no rights and you should just tell them to leave.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thank you, much appreciated0
