Hello, does anyone know if the Wooden Train set currently selling by Tchibo for £19.50 is compatible with Brio / other sets and does this seem like a good value starter set? I am thinking of getting this for my 2 year old train mad daughter for Christmas but would like to be able to add to it over time so I don't want to be restricted if this one is different.

Look forward to hearing from any wise trainspotters out there;)

It looks to me like it would fit the Brio and other wooden sets (does that make me a train spotter? ) Looks good value too.
My DS has some Brio bits, ELC, Chad Valley and Tesco and they all fit together fine. Sometimes on the box they will say 'compatible with other wooden train sets'.Busy working Mum of 3

They all tend to fit but if you want a starter set have a look in Asda they have 70 or 100 piece sets for £10.0

Good luck getting off their email list if you order anything. They constantly ignore my requests so I just filter them to my spam folder now.0

This set does have some nice bits and pieces... All the sets I've bought have fitted together so I expect it would be fine.0

Looks lovely - a bit like the tescos ones too. I did notice that the big picture of the set actually included more stuff than you would receive (I think it says 1 tunnel and 1 level crossing where there are two shown). In a Den first, Theo Paphitis has been getting business information from a talking tree.0

does anyone know if the tchibo one has the magnets to keep the carriages together, as i am also looking for a set for xmas but want the magnets. thanks0

Hi, Tchibo says it has
1 wagon with two-part magnetic bodywork
1 wagon with magnetic car
1 crane: turns 360° with magnet for loading and unloading the wagons
So presume this is allows them all to attach together.
Agree with previous post, the big picure is showing two sets, the smaller picture featuring the boy and girl playing seems to be what one set will look like.mummyyummy wrote:does anyone know if the tchibo one has the magnets to keep the carriages together, as i am also looking for a set for xmas but want the magnets. thanks0 -
Hi, we have bought our son the Chad Valley train table with free 100 piece train set for £49.99 but because he loves Thomas the tank engine so much we need to know if they can be used with this set (either the die cast metal magnetis or wooden magnetic engines would do), thanks for any help.:T0
