URGENT HELP NEEDED Re. Consumer rights with cancelling 'Bootsappliances' order

:(Sorry if this is wrong place to put this, but I was wondering if someone (more savvy than me about consumer rights) could help?
I have bought a fridge freezer in error (long story) this afternoon and paid for next day delivery (tomorrow). The Terms say you can cancel with their 'contact us' tel. no, but then when you are put through it says lines are not open until 11am Monday. This will be too late as delivery is tomorrow.
Website actually says "Call our service team on 0844 879 3483
Open 8am - 10pm 7 days a week" but this is not true. There is just a recorded message. The problem is that if they deliver there is a £50 charge to pick it up again.
Any ideas ? (Don't be mean - I'm gutted enough).

I wouldnt have thought with nobody being in the office till tommorow your delivery will be sent out until tommorow for delivery Tuesday so you may well be able to phone and cancel tommorow.
How mucg postahe have you paid? could you just refuse the delivery and pretend to be out. Im sure someone more knowledgable will advice you of your rights under the DSRMad Mum to 3 wonderful children, 2 foster kittens and 2 big fat cats that never made it to a new home!
Aiming to loose 56 pounds this year. Total to date 44.5 pounds 12.5 to go. Slimming World Rocks!0 -
Yes, I think the answer would be to just refuse delivery.
Try to catch the delivery driver before he unloads it, he will appreciate that he hasnt to unload
it, take it to the door, take it back and reload it. Yes I know thats what he is being paid for but
it pretty easy to be nice to people.
Dont pretend to be out, they may just leave it round the back door.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Thanks guys. I paid for next day delivery and it stated it would arrive tomorrow. I think if I refuse delivery they will just charge me the £50 anyway as they still have to pay to return it to their depot or wherever. Any more contributions welcome0

(For those who were waiting to see what happened with baited breath
):
Sorted ! Sent e-mail yesterday to them. Then driver rang today and he said not to worry he would cancel with the call centre and with no charge at all. Phew.0
