WH Smith Clubcard

Hi All,
I was in WH Smith the other week, buying a magazine with a £5 voucher and using the Clubcard. When you do this, any change given is given back in vouchers, so in this case as the mag was £3.25, I got a £1 voucher back and 75p in 'real money'! What was interesting is that on the reciept it shows that the £1 voucher was added as a purchase, and rather suprisingly one extra clubcard point was awarded for this.
According to the T&Cs of this card, you don't get points for purchasing WH Smith vouchers, so it seems either the cashier didn't know this, or the tills just ignore it and give points anyway.
I was wondering then if anyone had attempted to by say a £10 voucher (using a clubcard, so getting 10p back in points), and then when spending the voucher, got points again for proper purchases, thus getting double points! (Could even do this with a Moneyback credit card and get a bit more off!)
Cheers

Sounds like the cashier made a mistake there - you definitely don't get points @ whsmiths for purchasing vouchers, even boots don't give you points for buying the giftcards they now have as vouchers.
mind you at least boots give points on mobile phone top-ups, the last time i checked @ whsmiths they count top-ups as phonecards and dont give points.
was a bit amazed when the cashier told me i had £41.odd on my whsmiths card though1my advantage_card is like gold dush0 -
It was not a mistake, you probally handed the card when paying first, then produced your vouchers, change is indded given back in more vouchers but these will be scanned in so the system know's they've been used, and the till balances. The fact the clubcard was scanned was slightly odd, normall yif you show the card and vouchers you'll be told you can't do it.0
