    That's low cost.

    What I think I'd do in this position is use the 4% to get full employer match and use a stocks and shares ISA for the rest. That way teh S&S ISA can be used during unemployment or to increase the amount of deposit money available when buying a property. Later it might be used to clear a mortgage earlier than just overpaying.

    So long as you have the self-control not to look at this ISA pot and justs pend it, it'll buy you lots of financial security and better options later just through having it around. I know I'm a lot more relaxed now I have enough available money to live for years without a job if I had to.
